Cebu

In 1996, three actor/musicians met on the Philippine island of Cebu while shooting an independent film. Upon arriving back in the United States, they pooled their collective musical talents, and the rock/pop group Cebu was born. The trio has evolved to become a six-man ensemble whose music combines a funky mixture of guitars, bass, drums, keyboard, and violin with melodic harmonies. At the center of the group is lead singer and songwriter, Mike Boland. His efforts are buoyed by lead guitarist, Aaron Jocelyn; bassist, Clell Tickle; Clifford Jay on keyboard and rhythm guitar; drummer, Rudy Critchlow; and Eric Bishop, who adds the haunting sound of his violin. Harmonies provided by Clifford and Clell help to create a unique sound that stands out in this vast New York music scene. With hundreds of Mike's poems and lyrics to choose from, the buoys of the band have many songs and CDs planned for the future. Cebu's following on the New York City scene grows larger with each performance. With one CD, Just Havin' Fun, in stores already and another in the works, Cebu is sure to become a powerful presence on the music scene.  To learn more about Cebu, hear some of their songs or to check out their schedule, visit www.mp3.com/cebu.
