Clell...your humble narrator.I bought my first bass fifteen years ago while still in high school in Louisiana and have been playing it ever since. In college (Texas) I played in a lot of cover bands like Clapton, Stones, ZZ Top, S.R.V., Hendrix, Rush, Zep etc... We once named our band "Free beer" but had to change it. The biker bar we played at put our name on the marquis, and only made the regulars there upset. Other bands I have played in were named: The Syndrome, One too few, Two too many and, last but not least, Big Daddy Clell and the Ticklers. I prefer original music now though, and am a better collaborator than a song writer (I like to take poems and create songs from them). Very easy going, if I come up with something really cool, and you don't like it, I have no ego, and will just try to come up with something more like what you had in mind. I have an upright, string-Bass and have studied jazz through the Jamey Aebersold Method. Since moving to New York in 1998, I've played with about 6 bands or so including: The Sound of Monday, Cebu, The Foundry, Two II Few, Sun School and SpaceCake. I have played with Cebu for about 2 1/2 years now, and am just looking around to see what else is out there. If all this sounds good, lets get together for a cup of coffee or beer, or just let me know when I can sit in with you guys to see if we click. |
